presents The Merry Wives of WindsorSouthwest Shakespeare Company's production of The Merry Wives of Windsor opens next week at the Mesa Amphitheatre. Dates are April 11-20th, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays only. Showtime is 8 pm. Check your tickets and don't miss it. Single tickets can be purchased from the Mesa City Box Office, M-F, 10am-2pm, 480-644-2560 or at the door the night of show. The Amphitheatre is located at 251 N. Center St. in Mesa, Center/University.
The story goes that Shakespeare, having killed Falstaff in HENRY V, was so besieged with requests to bring back the portly knight, including a demand from Queen Elizabeth herself, that he finally relented. This play is the result and Shakespeare audiences have been overjoyed ever since. One of the funniest and cleverest plays that Shakespeare wrote, it features Falstaff and Mistresses Quickly, Page and Ford in a rollicking farce that is sure to please.
