Stray Cat Theatre
Presents
Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange
Directed by Ron May
Fight Choreography by David Barker

WHAT :   Anthony Burgess' novel A Clockwork Orange was uncannily prescient about teenage violence, and contained uncomfortable and profound ideas about human freedom. The novel in turn became the subject of a controversial film by Stanley Kubrick. In Burgess' nightmare vision of the totalitarian future, where criminals take over after dark, we follow Alex -- a vicious 15-year old Beethoven-loving, head-bashing punk who leads his gang of 'droogs' on ultra-violent assaults -- until he is captured by authorities and subjected to nasty behavior-modification therapy. Stray Cat Theatre returns to the author's original creation, with his complete reworking in dramatic form which includes the original ending NOT SEEN in the film!
