THIS IS NOT YOUR FATHER'S SHAKESPEARE!

Nearly Naked Theater presents Shakespeare's R & J by Joe Calarco; a highly provocative re-imagining of Romeo & Juliet, in which four Catholic boarding school boys read, perform and eventually become all of the characters from the Bard's classic play. Shakespeare's powerful universal themes of love shake the foundations of the boys' sheltered world: rigidity, conformity, emotional distance and religious sexual repression; teaching the young men more than any school or religion ever could but can the Bard out-teach a generation's guilt and fear?
Shakespeare's R & J will open on Friday, December 5th and run until Saturday December 27th at The Space Theatre (formerly On The Spot) 4700 N. Central Ave., in Midtown Phoenix. Performances will run Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays alternating between 7pm & 2pm. (Thus: There is only one matinee performance on Sunday, December 14th at 2pm.) THERE IS NO PERFORMANCE ON CHRISTMAS DAY.

Tickets are $15 General Admission and $12 for students, seniors, military personnel and teachers (ID Required). Reservations suggested.
For tickets or information call (602) 274-2432.

Shakespeare's R & J is suitable for adult audiences only:
Containing mature themes and brief nudity.
