The premiere of "In the Valley of the Sun" by Richard Warren will be presented by the Canyon Moon Theatre Company, according to the company's artistic director Mary G. Guaraldi. It will be directed by the theatre's artistic associate Daniel Schay.
This compelling drama will be presented February 12th, 13th and 14th at 7:30 pm, February 15th at 3 pm; February 19th, 20th and 21st at 7:30 pm, February 22nd at 3:00 pm; February 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th at 7:30 pm, February 29th at 3:00 pm.
General admission is $17. Full-time students will be admitted for $10. Tickets for the final Wednesday of the run and Thursdays are $13. Tickets are available by reservation and at the door beginning one-half hour before curtain.
The play is set in Arizona's Superstition Mountains where three best friends test their evolving relationships over a ten-year period. Maria leaves her cowboy boyfriend Steel to follow her dream of dancing on Broadway. Years later she returns to find her friend Trudy living with Steel. Surprising revelations and startling requests are made. Tensions mount as each struggles to maintain their friendship.
The award-winning cast includes Randy Messersmith, Natalie Messersmith, Mike Levin and Chloe Marcus.
