Opening the Broadway Palm‚s fourth fantastic season from September 30 - November 13 will be the musical masterpiece Miss Saigon. Miss Saigon is a moving modern-day love story of an American Marine named Chris and a strong-willed Vietnamese girl named Kim during the fall of Saigon, as they are torn apart by the fortunes of destiny, held together by a burning passion and hope for a child‚s chance at a better life in America. From the writers of Les Miserables, this musical masterpiece with its soaring melodies and powerful emotions has captured hearts worldwide. Now you can feel the heat, discover the excitement and give your heart to this award-winning classic love story that was inspired by a true-life historical event ˆ the legendary story of Miss Saigon at the Broadway Palm this fall.
Following Saigon and playing November 18 - December 25, 2004 will be an all new holiday show, Sounds of Christmas. Playing December 30 ˆ February 12, 2005 will be the recent Broadway revival, Gypsy, starring Elizabeth Loos as Mama Rose. Gypsy is based on the true story of entertainer Gypsy Rose Lee and tells about her climb from humble beginnings in show business to stardom in burlesque. Gypsy is filled with lots of comedy, a few tears and some unique bumps and grinds. The great tunes include Let Me Entertain You, Where We Go and Everything‚s Coming Up Roses.
Following Gypsy, will be the lovable classis Guys and Dolls, playing from February 17 ˆ April 9, 2005. Sky Masterson, Nathan Detroit, Miss Adelaide and Sister Sarah are once again Rockin' the Boat and Rollin' the Dice in this timeless fable of Times Square gangsters, good time girls, gamblers and a salvation army gal. You'll love watching Nathan Detroit, the ultimate gambling man, rock the boat of matrimony as he evades marriage to his chorus girl fiancé of 14 years. And things really heat up when high roller Sky Masterson meets Miss Sarah Brown of the Save-A-Soul Mission, and he gets more than he gambled on. Next in Broadway Palm‚s Fourth Fantastic Season, is the musical Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story, playing from April 14 ˆ June 4, 2005. Over thirty years ago, the man who changed the face of popular music tragically died at the age of 22. Now Buddy The Musical tells the story of the three years in which he became a recording artist, with a show that features over twenty of Buddy Holly‚s greatest hits including That‚ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Rave On, Heartbeat and Raining in My Heart.
Summer of 2005, playing from June 9 ˆ July 30, 2005, is the classic favorite, Sound of Music. It‚s the story of Maria, the Von Trapp children and the captain that brought us „Do-Re-Mi‰.
